Accent Basics
The aging process causes loss of collagen in the skin. As the skin loses collagen, it also loses elasticity and begins to sag and wrinkle. Accent uses precise heating to restore collagen, increase blood flow and thereby improve wrinkled, loose, and "crepe-like" skin.
Accent RF treatments can create dramatic change without the need for invasive surgery or even topical anesthetics. Unlike lasers, it works on all skin types. An added benefit is that there is no downtime, so you can quickly resume your normal routine.
During the procedure, a handpiece is moved over the treatment area, delivering radiofrequency energy to the skin. Our patients describe the sensation as a gradual, comfortable heat. Treatment time and number of sessions will differ based on the desired level of tightening; however, treatment time is generally 45 minutes or less and no more than 3 to 5 treatments are usually needed.
Accent can also be used as a form of cellulite treatment in Edmonton.
After Treatment
You should be able to resume your usual activities immediately after treatment. You may see increased blood flow and slight redness in the treated area, but this is normal and will subside quickly. Most people see tighter skin in 2 to 6 months, as collagen levels are replenished. Some of our patients have reported seeing results earlier than this. With more treatments over time, results will become more noticeable.
